What is the written test?

This one of the parts of the National Diploma in dental nursing. This is truly a knowledge based examination in which you have to answer multiple choice questions (MCQs) and extended matching questions (EMQs) on a separate answer sheet.

How many questions I must answer?

You have to answer all 75 MCQs and 50 EMQs

What is the duration of the examination?

The duration of the examination in 2 hours 30 minutes.

When is the examination held?

The examination is held twice a year usually in the months of April and November. The examination will be held at the NEBDN examination centres.

What s the examination fee?

The examination fee for current academic year is £425.00. This is subject to change at the discretion of the NEBDN.

When I will get my qualification?

To achieve your qualification you have to pass both parts, Written and OSCES of the examination conducted by the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses.

What happens when I pass the written examination?

NEBDN sends you an invitation letter to sit for OSCEs once you pass the written test.

Do I need to pay separately for OSCE part of the examination?

The examination fee covers both parts of the examination.

When I can sit for OSCE?

You are eligible to sit for OSCEs once you pass written examination.

What if I am unable to pass the written test?

You must re-enrol with an approved centre to re-sit for the written test with £50 re-sit examination fee.
